Feedback

"The first part of the Exhibiting Contemporary History programme was prepared in a very thorough, multifaceted way and turned out to be a success. The organisation was impeccable."

"The visits to Polish museums followed by meetings with the staff and insightful discussions were a great chance to use the theoretical knowledge gained during the first phase of the programme. The apt choice of the visited museums and memorials allowed the participants to discover and critically discuss the Polish memory landscape. The proposed interpretation frame for the visited sites and exhibitions will be in my opinion very useful for our future projects."

Feedback

"An interesting thing is that we had the opportunity to hear two completely opposite approaches in just two days. I must admit that I was quite reserved regarding Barbara Kirshenblatt-Gimblett’s approach, but she really was up to the task. After her lecture and also after reading her texts, I’m so eager to see POLIN museum next year. Probably, that will be a great opportunity for a next round of discussions."

Feedback

"The intensive programme consisted of different approaches on exhibiting given by interesting guests. The peer to peer formula was very good to me. I took as much as possible from every topic I was interested in. The networking goal and the lecturers were satisfying and I hope to make use of the contacts I've gained thanks to the programme."

Feedback

"The fact alone that somebody is thinking about this important topic on a higher level is encouraging, and to have the opportunity to meet the other colleagues that are eager to learn, share and expand their practical and theoretical knowledge was also very motivating. The time spent during these two weeks in conversation with other curators and museum practitioners was very valuable, because it was a good opportunity to share and compare our experiences – to identify the common problems and the specific differences that we encounter in everyday practice."

Feedback

"The first session of Exhibiting Contemporary History was a truly perfectly planned and conducted program which covered almost all aspects of museological practice. Holding presentations and debating in a creative and pleasant work atmosphere with globally recognised experts and experienced colleagues the knowledge gained is immeasurable, while the ideas developed during this session will impact my work in the years to come. In addition, friendships and contacts made during this program will be the basis for future projects among representing museum practitioners."
